Expedited sprinter van delivery
When a small shipment can't wait for a trailer to fill, Supreme Trux sends one van for one shipment. It loads at your door and drives straight to the receiver.
What is sprinter van freight?
Sprinter van freight is a dedicated delivery in a high-roof cargo van. One shipment goes in the van and nothing else, and the driver goes directly from pickup to delivery. There is no terminal and no waiting for other freight, which usually makes it the fastest way to move a few pallets by road.
It is one form of expedited freight. Because the van is smaller than a trailer, it fits into places a tractor-trailer cannot: downtown streets, small plazas, job sites and buildings without a dock.
What freight suits a sprinter van?
- Replacement parts that have a production line or a job site waiting
- One to three pallets with a delivery deadline
- Samples, trade show material and retail restocks
- Fragile or high-value goods that should not be handled at a terminal
- Deliveries to addresses a full-size truck can't reach
When should you not use a sprinter van?
Skip the van when the freight is not urgent, when it is heavier or larger than a van can legally carry, or when it has to stay refrigerated. A dedicated van costs more per pallet than a shared trailer, so freight with a flexible date is cheaper by LTL.
For those shipments look at LTL freight, a full truckload or temperature-controlled trucking.
How many pallets fit in a sprinter van?
A long-wheelbase, high-roof sprinter van typically carries about three standard 48 × 40 inch pallets and roughly 3,000 to 4,000 lb. The space between the rear wheel arches is about 53 inches, so pallets load one behind another. Exact figures vary by van, so confirm with us before you book.
| Vehicle | Standard pallets | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Sprinter van | About 3 | Urgent small shipments and tight delivery addresses |
| 53-foot dry van, LTL | About 1 to 6 of the 26 positions | Small shipments with a flexible date |
| 53-foot dry van, full truckload | Up to 26 | Large loads that travel direct |
Send us the dimensions and weight of every piece. Tall pallets may not clear the door opening, and weight limits differ from van to van.

Sprinter van FAQ
What is expedited freight?
Expedited freight is a shipment moved on a dedicated vehicle that drives straight from pickup to delivery, without waiting to be combined with other loads. It is used when the cost of a late delivery, such as a stopped production line, is higher than the cost of the truck.
Is a sprinter van faster than LTL?
Yes. An LTL shipment is picked up on a route, sorted at a terminal and delivered on another route. A sprinter van carries only your freight and makes no stops for other freight, so the transit time is close to the driving time.
How much weight can a sprinter van carry?
Roughly 3,000 to 4,000 lb for a typical long-wheelbase, high-roof cargo van. The legal payload depends on the model and how it is equipped, so give us the total weight when you ask for a quote and we will confirm the van can take it.
Can a sprinter van deliver where there is no loading dock?
Usually, yes. A van's floor is lower than a trailer's, and it can reach storefronts, job sites and buildings with ground-level doors. Pallets still need a forklift or pallet jack at ground level, or freight that can be unloaded by hand. Tell us what is available at each end.
